HAVI Friends Online Session-Fall 2020

GUEST SPEAKER-Joanna Talafre

Joanna Talafre-Bio

Born in France, living in Montreal since childhood, she is the mother of twins, including a little boy who lives with Trisomy 21. Before becoming a coach, she had a long career in environmental science, fighting climate change and environmental degradation in developing countries.

In 2014, she developed breast cancer, which led her to bring my children into this world a non-traditional way, with a surrogate. Becoming a mother was a difficult journey for me, considering the special challenges that come with having twins, and those that come with having a different child. Far from being over, this journey continues to be an invaluable source of learning and personal growth.

She experienced a second bout of cancer when her children were 2 years old and that led her to explore a new way of living and being. Thanks to kids, she’s discovered new modalities and ways of relating to the world, and found her new calling – to help people use their brains to their fullest so that we can make a better world for the most vulnerable among us. She have recently started working with parents and individuals as a certified coach, and she is helping people recover from illness and strengthen their resilience.
